Elisa Iacono-Mears: The theme “Metamorphosis” perfectly reflects the exciting merger between Rhode Island PBS and The Public’s Radio, symbolizing growth, transformation, and new possibilities. For years, people have turned to us for the programs they love, from engaging cooking shows to enriching family programming to trusted news, and that’s not changing. In fact, this partnership allows us to do even more.
Just as a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, this merger is about evolving to better serve our audiences and deepen our commitment to public media. “Metamorphosis” embodies our journey forward as we continue to inform, entertain, and inspire Rhode Islanders in new and exciting ways.
What unique experiences can guests expect at the VIP reception with Chef Mary Ann Esposito?
EIM: The Uncorking the Future VIP reception is the perfect way to begin an incredible evening! From 5 to 6 p.m., our VIP guests will be treated to a complimentary glass of prosecco while indulging in a beautifully curated spread, including charcuterie from Just Ellen’s Events and Catering, a raw bar from Tony’s Seafood, and fresh oysters from Matunuck Oyster Bar. It’s a true celebration of Rhode Island’s exceptional local flavors.
VIPs also get exclusive access to local food and beverage purveyors, as well as the Dolce & Salato Raffle, Gather Glass Wine Grab, and Silent and Live Auctions. Plus, Chef Mary Ann Esposito will be mingling with guests, creating a memorable experience for food lovers and public media supporters alike.

EIM: We carefully chose a mix of local Rhode Island restaurants, distilleries, breweries, and vineyards that celebrate the state’s vibrant culinary scene. Many of these partners have longstanding relationships with Rhode Island PBS and The Public’s Radio, while others represent exciting new additions. This diverse lineup ensures there’s something for everyone, from artisanal wines to innovative local cuisine. This event is all about creating an unforgettable experience for our guests while supporting the local businesses that make Rhode Island such a vibrant place to eat, drink, and gather.
What live performances can attendees look forward to?
EIM: Attendees of Uncorking the Future will enjoy a dynamic lineup of live performances, featuring artists who support public media. The Whelks will kick off the evening with their folk-inspired sounds from 5 to 6 p.m. during the VIP reception. TEN31 Productions will then mesmerize guests with stunning living art, reflecting the theme of “Metamorphosis.”
Later, the Lila Wilde Band will perform from 6 to 7 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m., delivering soulful, high-energy music. These artists were selected for their talent and commitment to the arts and public media, ensuring an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience celebrating creativity and transformation.
