Melissa is the Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of RI (BCBSRI). She leads BCBSRI’s commercial, government and ancillary businesses and oversees product development, brand/marketing, customer service, information technology, operations, corporate strategy and business development.
Before Blue Cross, Melissa was with Aetna, where she led product strategy and management for the entire U.S. commercial market. Before joining Aetna, Melissa was with Cigna Healthcare in product development and management, operations, sales and underwriting. Melissa spent five years in health care public relations at Wang Associates and Fleishman Hillard International, both in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross and an MBA in health care management from the University of Connecticut.
Melissa is a past board chair of the American Heart Association locally and a board member with Playworks New England. She also serves as a board member with RI PBS.
