Would you like Rhode Island PBS to air your completed project?

We are looking for completed documentaries, films, series and short format interstitials of interest to the Southeastern New England community. If you are an independent producer and your work meets the requirements outlined here, and your program is completed and fully funded, we welcome you to submit your work for review to be broadcast on Rhode Island PBS.

Please note, Rhode Island PBS is not accepting applications for funding at this time.

Please include a short narrative description of the program and your contact information.

If your program is accepted, you will need to 1) execute a LETTER OF AGREEMENT; 2) deliver a copy of the program in an acceptable broadcast format (Tech Requirements); and 3) provide us with appropriate publicity materials (Publicity Materials) so that we can properly promote the broadcast of your program.

Rhode Island PBS does not pay licensing fees for your program but we will provide closed captioning services if your program has not been captioned.

Do you have a project idea for a documentary, film and short format interstitials in need of funding?

If you are an independent producer currently working on a documentary, film, series or short format interstitials and you are looking for funding, Rhode Island PBS might be able to assist you.

From July 2024 to December 2024, Rhode Island PBS is accepting proposals for documentaries and potential series. Please submit a one to two-page narrative describing your project in detail. Include the intended target audience and reasons why the program would be a good fit for Rhode Island PBS and the Southeastern New England community.

Please include a trailer of your program, a resume, a reel of your past work and a budget.

The budget should detail ALL expenses of your project. Be sure to include all sources of revenue (grants/gifts/funds raised) as part of your budget. If you have received a grant(s), or are currently trying to secure one, please include all of the grant information as well.

Include in your submission the amount of financial assistance you are seeking from Rhode Island PBS.

Once your completed proposal and budget have been submitted, please send it to independentproducers@ripbs.org. It will then be reviewed by the Production Project Review Committee. If your submission is of interest to Rhode Island PBS, you will be contacted in writing indicating the next steps. Please DO NOT contact us as doing so will not help us in our decision-making process.
