Director of Integrated Media Operations
As the Director of Integrated Media Operations, you will play a crucial role in unifying our newly merged television and radio operations. This position will focus on facilitating the work of our talented teams, streamlining operations, and developing comprehensive roadmaps and project plans to ensure the success and alignment of our media initiatives. You will also support strategic initiatives to enhance programming, audience engagement, and organizational growth. This role requires someone with strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, capable of managing complex schedules, working on high-profile projects, and facilitating cross-functional teams.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
The Director of Integrated Media Operations role encompasses supporting content development, strategic planning, operational efficiency, team leadership, and change management—all critical areas for the successful integration and advancement of the merged media station.
Content Strategy & Development:
- Lead cross-departmental projects, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives are achieved, particularly in the areas of content development, audience with strategic goals across platforms and distribution channels.
- Research and analyze audience interests and trends to support the creation of innovative content for social, digital, interactive, and broadcast platforms.
- Coordinate the creation and distribution of pitch decks, program proposals, and funding narratives to secure support from sponsors and partners.
- Affiliate with content creators to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery across TV, radio, and digital channels.
Strategic Planning & Execution:
- Collaborate with senior management to enact and amplify strategic initiatives that drive the mission and vision of the merged media station.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the CEO, senior leadership, and the content production entities, maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
- Work with senior leaders to develop and implement comprehensive roadmaps for major initiatives that leverage our combined resources.
- Create and manage detailed project plans to guide the coalescence of TV and radio content operations.
Operational Efficiency & Integration:
- Establish, implement and maintain scalable systems and processes that improve organizational efficiency, including digital and physical workspace management.
- Optimize workflows to enhance operational efficiency across all platforms.
- Facilitate effective and collaborative communication and knowledge sharing between different departments and teams.
- Identify opportunities to leverage for operational synergies and implement best practices across the organization.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development:
- Lead and inspire cross-functional teams spanning television, radio, and digital platforms.
- Promote talent development and team building to create a unified, high-performing organization.
- Facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing between different departments and teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the CEO, senior leadership, and the content production entities, maintaining discretion and confidentiality
Change Management & Cultural Integration:
- Model and reinforce change initiatives related to organizational restructuring and cultural integration post-merger, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with strategic goals.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the merged organization.
- Support employee engagement and retention through effective communication, recognition programs, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in media operations, with significant exposure to both television and radio.
- Excellent understanding of media production workflows and operational best practices.
- Experience in content strategy and multi-platform distribution.
- Master’s degree, or equivalent, in management, organizational leadership, or a related field, preferably within media, non-profit, or educational institutions.
- Strong project management skills with experience in creating and executing complex roadmaps and project plans. Project Management certification is a plus.
- Proven track record in people management, leading cross-functional teams, fostering positive organizational culture, and managing stakeholder relationships at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change and navigate organizational transitions.
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders and maintain relationships.
- Familiarity with the Rhode Island market and the broader public media landscape is a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Work environment is office and broadcast production studios.
- Able to sit at a work station, concentrate viewing computer screens for an extended period of time.
- High utilization of office equipment.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time and bend
- Able to travel locally.
- Occasional work on weekends and evenings may be required.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary range is $85K-
$105K annually.
